AI will change how we think, not just how we work. š¤
Artificial Intelligence is transforming how we write code, analyse data, solve problems, and approach learning.
But an important question remains:
As AI becomes more capable, how do we ensure that people become better thinkersānot simply better prompt writers?
Technology can generate answers in seconds. The ability to question those answers, evaluate evidence, think critically, and make ethical decisions remains essential.
This is particularly important in higher education.
The role of education should not be limited to teaching students how to use AI tools. It should also help them understand the technology, recognise its limitations, challenge its outputs, and apply it responsibly to real-world problems.
As educators and technology professionals, we have an opportunity to shape how the next generation learns, thinks, and innovates.
Perhaps the most valuable skill in the AI era will not be technical knowledge or critical thinking alone, but the ability to combine both.
What is your perspective? How should universities prepare students for a future shaped by AI?
